According to GoodDocs, Always in Season explores the lingering impact of more than a century of lynching African Americans and connects this form of historic racial terrorism to racial violence today. The film follows a North Carolina mother seeking answers and justice after her teen son was found hanging from a swing set in 2014 and intersects with stories of communities seeking justice and reconciliation, including a group of reenactors who annually dramatize a 1946 quadruple lynching whose perpetrators have never been brought to justice.
